2026 Scout SUV: Release Date, Price and Design

Volkswagen Group has a new off-road-oriented brand coming, the 2026 Scout SUV. As its name suggests, the Scout intends to take advantage of the history of the international harvester Scout. As of now, VW Group has only released a small sketch of the SUV.

The leaked media images reveal the model will have a window line at the rear like the classic Scout. The SUV is also seen to have four doors in the sketch, although we cannot rule out the addition of a two-door Scout SUV in a four-door version to the brand’s model line.

Given that the VW Group is playing up the off-road angle of this new brand, we bet the new EV SUV will come standard with all-wheel drive courtesy of two electric motors. Apart from this, this new SUV will come with many advanced features.

2026 Scout SUV Design

The 2026 Scout SUV will be an all-new off-road-focused vehicle that Volkswagen Group will design for the US market. Only Americans will get the chance to drive the electric vehicle, as the Scout pickup truck will only be sold in the US in some states.

VW has enlisted the expertise of Austrian automotive manufacturer Magna Steyr to develop both the new Scout SUV and pickup. Magna will be famous for producing powerful vehicles like the Mercedes G-Class and the electrified Jaguar I-Pace.

Apart from this, Volkswagen has revealed only small sketches of the Scout SUV. As reported by Car and Driver, the Scout SUV features a window line that opens to the rear like the classic Scout.

2026 Scout SUV Release Date

Talking about the release date, let us tell you the sales of the 2026 Scout are expected to start in late 2026, with the prototype arriving in late 2024. This SUV will be the first model to be produced at the new Scout Motors.

2026 Scout SUV Price

We still don’t know much about the new Scout SUV. However, via a few automotive websites, we estimate that Volkswagen will offer at least two trim levels for the Scout SUV, with pricing for the base-level Scout SUV starting at around $45,000, and more feature-rich trims possibly priced at $50,000.  

2026 Scout SUV Interior

If we look at the interior design of the new Scout SUV, let us tell you that no specific information is available about it yet. Therefore, we cannot tell you much about the interior of the Scout SUV right now.

But the traditional elements common in other such off-road vehicles should find a place inside it. With a little advanced technology, rubberized floor mats, vinyl seating and extensive waterproofing will all almost certainly be part of the formula.
